In 1992 AM General began selling a civilian version of the military M998 Humvee vehicle to the public under the brand name Hummer. In 1999 GM bought the brand & named the original Hummer as H1.

Since then the Hummer has gone through many changes with the H2 & H3 & has wide appeal in the many countries to which it is now exported.
